In our current culture we have a bad habit of overconsumption, that is, buying new products of lesser quality that don't last as long, or instead of repairing goods we already have, we throw them out and buy new. This leads to perfectly good or easily repairable clothing, home goods and appliances piling up in landfills. And even worse, our landfills have started to run out of space! Instead, we send our waste overseas, creating trash mountains in places where locals don't have the resources or power to stop the west making deals with their government.

Good news is you can help! Upcycling or repairing your own clothes, accessories furniture, appliances etc, helps significantly reduce the amount of trash your household produces! And if that's not something you're able to do, it's always better to donate to a shelter, thrift store or community organization in need so that your goods get a chance at a second life instead of sitting in a landfill.

Supporting small business, especially those already using sustainable materials (like us!), helps this issue in more ways than you can imagine. Small business, unlike large corporations, often produce less trash as we don't have to order large quantities with a lot of single-use shipping waste, and we recycle! We also are committed to our craft and sustainability and will continue investing in our communities and using recycled supplies!
